Functionalization of glass surfaces at sub-micro level is enabled by a new setup for Direct Laser Interference Patterning DLIP. Tailored spatial periods with periodic patterns down to 200 nm show amazing optical effects for anti-counterfeiting without using color pigments or enable spatial alignment of cell elongation of pluripotent stem cells.
