Micro & Nanostructuring: LaserRoll
Did you know that printing and embossing cylinders can be structured with sub-µm resolution by means of flexible direct laser ablation?
Non-diffracting Bessel beams with a spot size of ~1 µm and several mm depth of field can be generated from conventional ultrashort pulsed Gaussian beams. In this way, high-resolution microstructuring is combined with exceptional process stability due to the extremely generous focal plane tolerance which is particularly beneficial for rough, pre-structured and uneven surfaces or when the concentricity of the cylinder rotation is limited. To meet the industry’s demand for economic processing times, we apply a multibeam approach and parallelize the direct laser structuring process.
